WELCOME TO IDOL SHOWDOWN WOO (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧
Shayla and I began working on this by playing Dice Throne and going over the rules for the Pokémon TCG. We intended to make a two player idol game where you battle each other for the fans attention. To start we looked at how Dice Throne sections out its player turns into different phases- we iterated upon this concept twice. Initially we wanted to section the cards into Singing, Dancing, and Fan service but upon our first play test we realized that having sub sections within the card types didn’t contribute anything. So instead we reframed our cards as different parts of the concert with the Opener, main concert, and Oncor now being the framework the cards would be played within.
We also refined our CP (card point) system as some of the cards needed to be balanced and made more enjoyable. We also want to work towards incorporating more defensive abilities for the players since we found the use of defensive and deflective abilities to be some of the most fun parts of the game.
Our next goals are to refine the rules and the game board and also the character bios and cards themselves so its as fun as it can be for you all to play tomorrow~! Shayla is going to be working on the cards themselves while I make the boards and the rules. Something we would like to expand upon is the variety of cards in our deck. Additionally, we would like to make more character spesific abilities so that the characters have a distinct play style that would add to the replay-ability of the game. Maybe even incorporating other characters with different play styles would be interesting and could allow for a 3-4 player experience.
